BACKGROUND
Pop ambient pioneer Markus Guentner made an album about the impact of the planet Theia. Released via A Strangely Isolated Place, the record label asked me to write an accompanying sleeve note for the vinyl release.
THEIA
A short copy passage that conveyed the destructive impact of the astrological event and complemented Markus' dramatic, evolving soundscapes.
There was chaos and violence
A collision of dark matter and heat.
In the maelstrom, a legacy was created
And a new moon born.
She left something here forever
But amongst infinite black depths,
Theia rages on.
